UMESHU, THE JAPANESE PRUNE LIQUOR

UMESHU,
THE JAPANESE PRUNE LIQUOR

Umeshu means literally “Plum Alcohol” in Japanese. It is the most popular liquor in Japan where it is considers more or less like a national Whiskey. It is very appreciated for its fruity scent and its sweet flavour.

It is made from neutral alcohol flavored in a maceration of Japanese apricot plums for six months to a year.

I do prefer to serve the Umeshu to my guests dry or with ices (Rokku).

Enjoy with moderation, always...
