THE JAPANESE PRUNE LIQUOR
Umeshu means literally “Plum Alcohol” in Japanese. It is the most popular liquor in Japan where it is considers more or less like a national Whiskey. It is very appreciated for its fruity scent and its sweet flavour.
It is made from neutral alcohol flavored in a maceration of Japanese apricot plums for six months to a year.
I do prefer to serve the Umeshu to my guests dry or with ices (Rokku).
