(Granite de melon au Marsala)

A perfect cocktail to prepare September chaos when you still have lots of sun from your summer holiday in your head... You will need some real melon for this recipe. The ones with orange flesh. The Cantaloupe as they call them here in Great Britain. I prepare this aperitif a lot in France with Cavaillon melon and it is simply to die for... I do not put Marsala but walnut liqueur made by my family. It is a concert in your mouth (if it is possible to have a concert in your mouth obviously...). Marsala wine was a good alternative then to the walnut liqueur I cannot find in London. Enjoy with moderation, always !

A quick glance in your kitchen...

In your fridge
Cantaloupe melon

In your cupboard
Marsala wine

MARSALA AND MELON GRANITE 
For 8-10 shot glasses 


The flesh of 1 Cantaloupe melon 
25cl 8,7,05 oz of Marsala wine
Marsala to serve

Blitz smooth the melon using a hand blender. 
Add the Marsala wine. Combine well.
Place the mixture in a freeze-proof shallow container.
Freeze for at least 3 hours.
Stir every 30 minutes with a fork.
Serve in little glasses with a drop of Marsala in each glass if you wish...



Granite de melon au Marsala

Pour 8-10 verres à shot 
La chair d’1 melon Cavaillon
25cl de vin Marsala
1 petit peu de Marsala pour servir


A l’aide de votre mixeur, réduire la chair en purée en ajoutant le Marsala.
Placez la mixture dans un récipient profond et entreposez-le au congélateur pour 2-3 heures en remuant et grattant les pourtours glacés vers le centre avec une fourchette toutes les 30 minutes. 
Servir dans un verre avec une lichette de Marsala en plus si vous le souhaitez !
