PRETZEL SANDWICH WITH MORTADELLA BOLOGNA AND PISTACHIOS 


Do you know that the Mortadella Bologna must undergo a process of preparation and cooking so complex that it deserves an European specifications named the Mortadella IGP? The European Commission has certified this label in 1998. The Mortadella Bologna is actually born in....(drum-rolls please, drum-rolls) Bologna, Emilia-Romagna to be precise (the name of my daughter if you wish to know...), six centuries ago by brothers who lived in a Convent located on the hills overlooking Emilia. It has even been signed by the Cardinal Farnese of Bologna in 1661!! Amd now, it is going to be enjoy in a marvelous pretzel sandwich, it's fascinating isn't it ?


Wine pairing : Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (Red) from Abbruzo.

IN YOUR FRIDGE
Mortadella Bologna
Cherry tomatoes
D'Isigny butter

IN YOUR CUPBOARD
Pistachios
Pretzel


PRETZEL SANDWICH WITH MORTADELLA BOLOGNA AND PISTACHIOS 
Serves 1

A little pretzel open in half
A little bit of butter 
2-3 slices of Mortadella Bologna
A dozen of ground pistachios
3 cherry tomatoes cut in half

Buttered one side of the pretzel
Layered the Mortadella and the tomatoes inside.
Sprinkle the pistachios.
Close the pretzel.
Enjoy !





Bretzel à la mortadelle de Bologne et aux pistaches

Pour 1 personne
1 petit bretzel rond
Un peu de beurre d’Echiré ou d’Isigny
2-3 tranches de mortadelle
3 tomates cerise coupées en deux
Une dizaine de pistaches concassées

Ouvrir le bretzel en deux.
Le tartiner avec le beurre et y déposer la mortadelle ainsi que les tomates.
Saupoudrez de pistaches.
Refermez et dégustez !
