CARAMELIZED CHERRY TOMATOES

Those caramelized cherry tomatoes are very popular in France since a couple of years now. Each time I proposed some at my buffet's with British people, they always seemed pleasantly surprised. It is sooooo easy to do. Perfect for an aperitif minute. It will add a nice colorful touch to any table or buffet. 





CARAMELIZED CHERRY TOMATOES
A quick glance in your kitchen...

In your fridge
Cherry tomatoes

In your cupboard
Caster sugar
Sesame seeds
Cocktail sticks

CARAMELIZED CHERRY TOMATOES
For a little bowl
1 pack of cherry tomatoes 
50g of caster sugar 
2 tbsp of sesame seeds (black for me) 
3 tbsp of water 
A few cocktail sticks

Place a saucepan over a low heat and mix the water with the sugar.
Let the sugar dissolve and form darker patches.
Stir to make an even caramel color. Add the sesame seeds in the caramel.
Put each tomato over a cocktail sticks and dip them rapidly into the caramel.
Leave to cool at room temperature.
Serve.
